Today at noon (ET) we randomly drew from all the comments entered in the May drawing for a Connection family necklace. Lucky #23 (out of 213 entries) was Deborah’s comment:

She’s won herself this lovely necklace with her grandchildren’s names:
Congrats Deborah!
This month, we’ll be giving away one of our latest designs: our Honeycomb pendant, that also serves as a wrench in a pinch! (It’s currently available for pre-order for 25% off the retail price, and we’ll ship it to you with a $10 gift certificate. It’s handy enough that if you do pre-order, you can gift one to a friend, or we’ll refund your purchase price).
To enter, just tell us:
1) Your name.
2) Who would you give the Honeycomb pendant to, or would you keep it for yourself?
3) What other sort of item (useful or frivolous) would you like to see turned into a piece of jewelry?
Please, only one entry per person. We will draw randomly from all the comments received on Monday July 4th at noon EDT, but if the comment doesn’t have all the above answered, we will re-draw. Good luck!

2.It would be ALL MINE!
3.I’d love to see something fun done with a spoon!
Lynette
I would keep it. As a newly single women I have come to appreciate having tools for all the unexpected things that break, get stuck, come loose, etc. This would be ideal! Classy yet functional. Everything my ex was not!
More nature products.. Leaves, flowers, natural stone, coral, wood
My name is Diane. I would give the necklace to my son. He is always borrowing my tools and losing them. I would like to see a robinson screwdriver incorporated into a piece of jewelry.
1. Rachel
2. It would be for moi!
3. How about different size of screwdriver bits attached together? Would be the perfect match to the wrench!
My name is Merryl and I would keep the Honeycomb Necklace for myself. I was going to say partner it with a pair of Scissors but I would rather it with a Pair of Dainty Pliers and a Dainty Screwdriver.
1. Kathleen
2. This is perfect for my sister who works in as an industrial supply salesperson PLUS she isa race car driver! I thin the guys she works/races with would really get a kick out of it.
3. She is also a baker so what about measuring spoons? I also like the person above who suggested a mini level.
Hello … Marie Starr here … I’m not sure if I would keep it or give it my sister … Most likely, I would give it to her … I go more for the found art type jewelry: with things like gears and computer chips and pop can tops and such … I’d like to see more jewelry made with recycled parts – of anything that ends up in landfills and could instead be finding its way into being repurposed :)
My name is Donna and I would keep it for myself. I would like to see a spoon turned into jewelry.
1) Angela Vanecek
2) I won’t lie, I want this for myself. It is an elegant and useful design that I would LOVE to show off to the university students in the art college where I work. It is a beautiful example of form AND function rather than one over the other. I also bike commute and it sure would come in handy when it is time to tighten my handlebars or seat on-the-fly. (^_^)
3) I used to carry a multi-tool all the time for the screwdriver attachments but it just stopped being practical now that I spend all day in an office and classrooms. I think it would be a neat challenge to make a screwdriver pendent or broach!
1. Brooke
2. I would keep the pendant for myself – I am a photographer and think it would be perfect to tighten up my tripod which is an ongoing part of my job!
3. I love the tool theme – you could do an entire series! The ends of screwdrivers could make fantastic design elements.
1) April
2) Myself – it will be handy as we are renovating our home and business.
3) A wisk or fork (as I love to cook) or something to do with electronics as I work at/with them all day.
Christina here. I would definitely be selfish and keep it for myself. I’m sure my daughter would eventually confiscate it, but I’d be willing to lend a hand to someone if they just so happen to need a wrench when I’m around and happen to be wearing the handy necklace. I’ve seen a really cool bottle opener ring before that many people have mentioned previously. Really cool pieces of jewelry I’ve seen have an aquatic theme: look like coral and seaweed, but crafted out of silver.
Amy Rouse
I’d definetly keep for myself!
I’d like to see my knitting size guage (needles) turned in to fab jewelry!!!
I saw this necklace and was immediately in love with it. I think tools in general are like pieces of art and I love collecting older tools from the 20′s they 50′s. I think that lug nuts would make a pretty Kool piece as well or even a pair of haircutting shears. I live your site and will pass it along on my own blog. Good luck and keep up the inspiring work.
1) Hilary
2) I’d keep this one!
3) I’m a belly dancer, so old tribal pieces, or hip scarf coins

1. Valerie
2. I’d keep it! I’m a mechanical engineering student at CMU and do fair amount of projects where this would be incredibly useful. This is such a wonderful product.
3. I love the duality of this product. A charm bracelet with interchangeable bits would be a match.
1. David
2. For myself!
3. wind chime would be really cool (even though it probably won’t make sound…)
I’m Lindsay & I’d love this for my husband as he’s a mechanic! He has sooo many tools that would be really neat made into tools, i’m thinking a multipurpose screwdriver would be really neat.
1. Dawn
2. My sister, she would love it and her birthday is this month!

Thanks
Carrie Conley….would keep it for myself….maybe something like a cookbook…
1. Katja
2. For my lovely boyfriend.
3. I’d love to see a necklace with a wine bottle opener (for cork) incorporated. That’s something me and my friends frequently miss having with us, when hanging out for picnics.
1. Patricia
2. I’d keep this one for myself!
3. I’d like to see the chip from my chip credit card put into a ring so that I could just wave my hand over the paypass sensor to pay for my groceries or coffees at Tims. TA DA!

1) Laurie
2) I would give this Honeycomb Pendant to my Mom who is allergic to bees..
3) Being a scrapbooker Scissors would be neat to have
1. Susan
2. Not to be selfish, but I’d keep it for myself. I take care of my mom full time and I’m also her fix-it girl (she always says I keep her world from falling apart). I inherited my love of tools and the ability to fix things from my dad, now that he’s gone, I’m proud to carry-on the DIY family tradition.
3. I’d love to see more stylish multi-use jewelry. I really like how you’ve created a great design that doubles as a tool. Here’s a challenge, make needle-nose pliers wearable, yet functional. :)
1. Stephanie
2. I would give it to my husband, who just bought a bike. This would be an amazing gift to give him!
3. I’d love to see more tools, like mini screwdriver for eyeglasses! Or how about a cool key necklace?
thanks so much!
I would give this away to my daughter….she is very handy with the tools so I know she
would see the sense of humour in this gift!!!! I really like the idea of house keys, old
keys are an excellent idea for a pendant….keys with a keyhole, something creative along
those lines…..Liz.
1) Don
2) Better half Jenn, yet more proof she’s a geek gal!
3) Our wine blogger would probably like a cork screw. I would like a bottle opener! Wonder if you guys can make a spork sexy?
Heya, Luci here.
I think I’d give this to my boyfriend – when I met him he used to wear a bead necklace but he stopped a few years ago and I think a necklace that also had a brilliant functional use would be the perfect thing to encourage him to wear jewellery again.
If there was a beautiful stylish necklace that concealed a USB drive, I would be one of the happiest ladies ever. 16GB on my neck! Shazaam!
1. Barbara B.
2. Because it has such a useful hidden function and I can’t walk around carrying a set of wrenches everywhere, I would have to keep this lovely pendant for myself!
3. I’d love to see jewelry that incorporates phillips and flathead bits, or perhaps a ruler!
1) My name is Chris and 2)I would give this to my girlfriend so that she can wear it and I can borrow it when I need a wrench. It would be great for our apartment because we don’t have a lot of space for tools here but of course there is space for jewelery!
3)I know this is boring but a really solid screwdriver would be a great piece of jewelery – as photographers my girlfriend and I are always needing a quick and easy screwdriver and usually have to use a coin or a key.
My name is Shelley and I’d give it to my daughter, who is just graduating from high school and will be studying sciences.
I’d like something with a biological or gene shape that incorporates a flashdrive.
1. Francesca
2. My mom, my father was an engineer but now has late-stage Alizhimer’s, he’s 65, and this type of ‘tool’ pendant would appeal to him, and she loves modern chunky jewelry
3. Screw driver heads – star, square etc
1) Lindsay
2) Keep it for myself.
3) Either something with a food theme (made with mini utensils) or something with an ocean theme (like a pendant with a sea fan or or small sand dollar encased).
1. Terri
2. I’ve already pre-ordered my own, so this one would go to my sister… especially since I’m moving away so she’s going to need her own hex wrench. ;)
3. I only need to wear my glasses some of the time, so I often have them clipped on to the front of my shirt… but with v-neck shirts, I find I drop the necklace on the floor a lot. I’m usually wearing a necklace with a v-neck, so often I wish there were some way I could tuck them into my necklace to keep them a little bit more secure! I just don’t know how to make that work and be pretty!
1. Lori
2. I’d keep it for myself.
3. Pretty bottler opener.
3. A flower with each petal (or just the stem) is either a flat head or Phillips head screw driver.

3. Keys – something other than the usual key-style pendant.
1. Kylie
2. I think I would keep it for myself
3. A culinary tool – maybe a zester, or a cherry pitter. Although It might look ridciulous, so maybe a cook themed line?
1) monica
2) I would totally keep it for myself!

iii. I’m quite attached to rings at the moment, so rings, I guess… or maybe something like lock picks!
My name is Deborah . I am the lucky winner of the May giveaway . If I was lucky enough to win again in June , I would have to give the pendant to my daughter Stephanie . She introduced me to Blend Creations and it would be a nice way to thank her for my favourite jewellry designers .
I would love to see some designs with cutlery handles !?
1. Kritine
2. A friend who loves unique jewelry
3. A small mirror
My name is Ali and I’d love the necklace for myself (though in a pinch, I’m pretty sure my boyfriend would use if more than I would…). I would love to see a first aid kit necklace that doesn’t look like a first aid kit!
1. Amber
2. I would definitely keep it for myself!
3. I’d like to see a bottle opener necklace. They have been made before but never anything attractive!
A great answer would be: “I am completely selfless and therefore I would certainly pass this along to a dear friend, gift wrapped in the finest silk and tied with the prettiest bows!” However, an *honest* answer would be: “Of course I’m keeping this for myself! Look at it! It looks so cool, and it FUNCTIONS. How many (good looking) necklaces have a function? Seriously? This has so. Much. Awesome.
What would I like to see in another piece of functional jewelery? Like Sharon, I do a lot of sketching and drawing so perhaps a sharpener, eraser, pencil or pen. The allen key idea is another handy one.
Sharon. And well, as much as I hate to say it, I would keep it for myself. My jewellery tends to get noticed and discussed and I would just revel at the opportunity to encourage other women to be more handy! And that it is cool to do so. As an artist I do a lot of sketching so a ring or pendant that can sharpen my pencils or graphite or lead would also be super functional!
I would have to keep this necklace for myself. It is a beautiful design! I would love to wear this, and no doubt it would get a lot of use. I am an archer and shoot 99% of the time with men. I’m often the go to girl for tools when they need something. I would love to see the look on their faces when they asked for a wrench! It would be priceless!
Amanda here. I would keep this beauty for myself, but lend it out to tool-less people as needed. Other great necklaces: a prettier allen key, a beer opener.
Ny name is Elaine, and I would love one of these necklaces for myself… you never know what kind of situatuion where this would be needed! I would love to see some sort of leaf shaped jewlery the material could be silver or really anything, but something to do with leaves. I also like cork and recycled glass.
I would selfishly keep this for myself. It definitely turn some heads and have people wondering where I got it from. It would also go with any clothing I wear!
I would definitely keep this one for myself! I’d love to see a level tool made into a necklace!!
(1) Heidi
(2) I love bees and would like to have my own apiary some day so I’d keep the necklace for myself.
(3) I like recycled things made into jewelry. Keys are especially cool.
Hi! I(1)’m Carie and (2)would love to gift the pendant to my friend Noelle. She just built a lovely, tall beehive with her husband for their new home! (3)I’m partial to bike parts in jewelry, thinking of a bike wheel with the spoke ends shaped like flower petals, perhaps? chain rings are good too!
