Blend Creations got a little surprise mention on Ottawa TV station, /A\ Channel this morning!
/A\ Channel dedicated today’s show to social media including twitter, online safety and more. They had Andrea Tomkins from the blog A Peek Inside the Fishbowl (@missfish on Twitter) on to talk about blogging. Check out her clip:

Vivian had to good fortune to talk to Kelly Alexander about Blend Creations’ Metal for Monsters project. With each Metal for Monsters pendant sold, we donate $16 to international children’s charity, UNICEF.
The idea to start Metal for Monsters came one Saturday morning, while reading the paper. We were moved by a story about children in other parts of the world who, for whatever reason, lack basic needs such as food, shelter, water and an education.
While we realize how lucky we are, as relatively new parents, we couldn’t imagine having a child facing such harsh realities. We thought about what we could do to give back to the other little monsters of the world, and Metal for Monsters was born. We’re hoping to raise at least $10,000 for UNICEF as a way of giving back and hopefully give more kids a chance to be the best little monsters they can be.

The entire staff of Blend Creations was featured in a 100 Strangers photo project on a blog called Le Mien (roughly translated means ‘here’s mine’). Le Mien is the work of Kym S. who really, truly does some beautiful portraits.
I feel much more stylish than I really am, just by being part of this project. Check us out:

Ottawa blogger, writer/photographer (triple threat anyone?), Andrea Tomkins writes the blog A peek inside the fishbowl, about her life here in our fabulous hometown of Ottawa, ON. I was introduced to her by way of a mutual friend, and when I read her bio, I realized she was one of the contributors to our local ‘eating bible’, Cheap Eats Ottawa.

If you’ve ever wanted to know just a little more about us, Jen Wallace over at IndieFixx interviewed us yesterday and we’re honoured to be part of her Wednesday Indie Artist Fixx feature.
